In the aftermath of the january 12th earthquake the question rises on how to rebuild Haïti. International donors favour specific investment plans where employment is created through low-wage jobs in export-oriented industries. Once more the « international community » turns a blind eye for greater opportunities for Haïti and its population. For decades popular organisations like PAPDA have called agriculture and production for the local market one of the greatest and most comprehensive economic opportunities.
